Terracotta Eyes

I’m a major supporter of the neutrals. There is no job I’ll go to without my neutral palette. When I fly to London for Fashion Week, I’ll check my bright palette and carry on my neutrals for fear of losing them. This season warm undertone browns that look like they’ve been lit by candle light, are definitely the way to go. To get the look stay away from anything too frosty, and apply the colour all over the eyelid up to the crease and wrap around the eye. Use a soft brush to ensure the look is well blended and there are no hard lines. Two of my favourites are from MAC, Midtone Sepia Cream Colour Base (this colour is a backstage staple, most recently making an appearance at Alexander Wang AW 10) and Shadester Sculpting Powder.
Having said all that, here’s what happened when Lisa went out to pick up shadows so she could start wearing this new Spring trend:
I was really inspired by all of the terracotta brown eyeshadows that were seen in numerous Spring/Summer runway shows. And since it was featured in so many shows I thought it would be an easy pick up at the local makeup counters. I was so wrong. First off, it was difficult to find something warm and bronzy enough — there was a ton of taupes and dark browns, and it was also difficult to find something in a matte texture. One counter girl even suggested using a bronzer which I have since tried.
So since then, I have done a bit of research and found the following: Guerlain eyeshadow palette l’heure d’ombre 341 and Dior 5 colour eyeshadow in beige massai 705 both available at Shoppers Beauty Boutique.
