Last weekend I was quite excited to try on Tom Ford’s newly launched Private Blend Lip Color — his take on 12 classic lip colours. He took the most universally flattering colors that a woman can wear, and then reimagined them in a modern and authoritative way. The first thing I noticed was the luxurious and ultra-creamy texture which is formulated with rare and exotic ingredients including soja seed extract, Brazilian murumuru butter and chamomilla flower oil. The closest lipstick that this resembles is YSL’s Rouge Volupte. But unlike the Rouge Volupte the Private Blend Lip Color doesn’t cake on so thick which makes it more wearable. These lipsticks are great if you’re looking for a creamy lipstick with tons of pigment but be warned — the product comes with a heavy price tag: $45.
