Last night I was putting together a quick men’s grooming kit and thought I’d share some of my go to products. The average guys grooming is pretty simple–they need to look like a cleaned up version of themselves. Just as with any makeup application skin prep is important. Unless the guy is extremely dry I tend to use a lightweight moisturizer that leaves minimal shine on the skin. Men’s lips can be dry so a lip scrub is useful or in a pinch wrap your finger around a wipe rub the dry skin away. Use a lip balm that’s hydrating but matte. Homeoplasmine works wonders not just on lips but any dry areas. Brows should be brushed and if they’re unruly a bit of brow gel will keep them under control. Depending on how the skin looks I will use concealer on any blemishes or under the eyes. In some cases I’ve used a very light foundation like MAC Face & Body, but only when necessary. Invisible powder is a must to keep unwanted shine away. Sometimes a sweep of matte bronzer can give a natural healthy glow and help avoid a washed out look.
