Emmy’s last night were quite entertaining thanks to the hosting skills of Jimmy Fallon. The looks from the red carpet were pretty standard with the exception of a couple of unusual choices. January Jones got mixed reviews on her blue Atelier Versace and seemingly undone hair. I actually liked her hair and makeup for that reason. Her eyeliner was good, her skin looked glowy and the pink lips were pretty. The dress was perhaps not the best choice, but at least she didn’t look like anyone else. I liked Lea Michele’s pale grey shadow, and statement necklace. Jewel has never been on my radar but she looked beautiful last night in red lips and chignon. The song she sang was equally beautiful. Kim looked quite ethereal in white Marchesa. Her hair and makeup was really pretty and quite soft which suited the dress perfectly. Claire Danes I thought, was one of the best dressed overall of the night. Her dress was gorgeous Armani Prive. The colour and texture looked amazing against her tan skin, and blonde hair, and metallic eyeshadow pulled the whole together.

The rest of the Love covers surfaced last week, besides these 4, and the 2 others shown on Smudge Style, there is also British model/actress Kelly Brook, and a mannequin cover to choose from. Personally I’m torn as to which is my favourite between Rosie, Giselle, and Alessandra I can’t decide. The latest edition of Love launched today in both print and an ipad version.

Teen Choice Awards aired last night, and as usual young Hollywood was dressed to impress from Herve to Louboutin it’s nice to be young, rich, and fabulous! These four also had in common glowing skin, loads of lashes, and neutral lips.

The girls of 90210 were all in attendance at the recent CW Summer Party. All looked red carpet ready-Jessica Stroup’s long lashes, Shenae Grime’s dark eyeliner, and Annalynne McCord’s peach lips. However, I think Jessica Lowndes stole the show. Everything from her effortless wavy hair, glowy cheeks, red lips, and the outfit-was a hit.

Angelina Jolie looks pretty stunning as she makes her way around the world for her latest movie Salt. Her make up is clean and classic opting for black eyeliner, and either nude or red on her most famous feature-lips. My favourite look so far is the glossy highlight on the cheeks, and the sheen on her legs. You can’t go wrong with strategically placed highlights.

Kim along with her other sisters, were in Miami for the Beach Bunny Swimwear fashion show. Kim of course was wearing her signature make up look: dark smoky liner, but she had this very pretty deep peach colour on her eyelids. Lots of lashes, liquid eyeliner, bronze cheeks and of course the nude glossy pout. What was slightly unexpected were Kim’s neon pink nails-I like!

A few celebs were spotted taking in the Couture shows this past week. Blake Lively and Jessica Alba were all in attendance at Chanel. Leighton Meester’s smoky eyes complemented her embellished outfit. Blake Lively looked summery with beachy waves and glowing skin. Jessica Alba looked adorable in a white dress with red belt and matching lipstick.

Kate Moss, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Stella McCartney all dressed in short black attire, with pointy black stilettos, for the opening of Mario Testino’s “Kate Who?” photography exhibit. Kate looked pretty fantastic. I love the dress, the Louboutins, and the cat eye make up. All very appropriate for an exhibit dedicated to images of herself.

Now this is quite a transformation for miss Amber Rose! Usually seen around town bald headed and scantily clad on the arm of Kanye West. Amber Rose is all dolled up in old Hollywood glamour with a very modern twist. Those brows are amazing.

A slightly sinister, black bobbed Megan Fox is on the cover of the July edition of Interview magazine. The image has a very dramatic feel to it, heightened by the hair and make up.

Here’s how to get the look :

To get smooth bright skin first apply Shu Uemura’s UV Underbase, which perfects and brightens the skin before foundation. For sharp dark brows use Shu Uemura Eyebrow gel . Shade the  crease of the eye using a tapered blending brush, and a matte grey shadow like Make Up Forever Slate Grey. Complete the look with deep red lips. Try Rouge D’armani  in 400.

These ladies worked the red carpet last night at the MTV Movie Awards. Scarlett Johansson was best dressed in green Dolce and Gabbana. Her blonde waves, dark eyes and light lips made for the perfect red carpet package. Vanessa Hudgens opted for pale pink lips off setting her tanned skin nicely. Katy Perry let her hair be the focus of her look. If you were to ever wear a bright blue wig this is how it should look! Nicky Hilton’s side braid was very SS 10. Christina Aguilera’s tight coif and red lips were very dramatic, much like her performance on the show.

I have to admit I am a bit of a Miley Cyrus fan! I think for a young girl she has a really great look. Starting with her incredibly long tousled hair (obviously extensions) big eyes, and her pouty nude lips. In an attempt to move away from her Disney image, she’s photographed on the cover of Billboard magazine’s June issue leather clad and in charge.

The ladies were looking stunning at the amfAR Cinema Against Aids gala held during the annual Cannes Film Festival at the Hotel du Cap on Thursday (May 20) in Antibes, France. Stand-out lips looked lovely on Marion, Emily and Camilla. Jennifer Lopez worked the smokey eyes and Naomi looked gorgeous as always. But my favourite was Diane Kruger’s undone updo accented with jeweled accessories — a head-to-toe Chanel look.

When it comes to film festivals and fashion, Cannes beats out all the other festivals hands down. Thanks to the favourable weather, and Cannes’ reputation for glamour celebs dress like they’re going to the Oscars. Kate Beckinsale wore  Marchesa at the Robin Hood premiere, and she looked amazing from head to toe. Red lips were quite popular worn by Salma Hayek, Naomi Watts, and Camilla Belle. Newly svelte Jennifer Hudson stuck to what she knows-metallic shadow and lots of lashes.

Scarlett Johansson has been on the media circuit a lot  lately  (Iron Man 2 release) looking gorgeous. Never one to go to extremes with her make up, the key features she focuses on are: brows, lips, and cheeks.

For perfectly groomed brows Anastasia Perfect Brow Pencil has a pencil on one end to fill in gaps and create definition, and a brush on the other to make sure your brows are in place. To get glowing cheeks with a hint of pink, try YSL Blush Variation is a combination of matte and shimmer that adds colour and shine to your cheeks. Everyone was in New York for the MET Ball on Monday night. Quite frankly, I think there were more best dressed celebrities last night, then we saw throughout the entire awards season. Blake Lively’s brilliant blue Marchesa was my favourite dress. The detail and the colour are amazing. Blake wore matte pink lips, loads of lashes, a sleek high ponytail, and a golden tan=perfection! As for the other ladies-Diane Kruger is always flawless, Sienna Miller looked surprisingly fresh and pretty, Taylor Swift’s entire look is very glam, and her skin looks radiant, and Kate Bosworth’s 1940′s inspired hair is very classic.

This runway look gained momentum in the Fall and we’re still seeing it for Spring. The top knot comes in many forms, and sizes. I think a medium size undone look is the easiest to replicate and looks the most chic. (It depends on how long and thick your hair is. I like to add extensions for a more dramatic look as seen at Lanvin or on Jennifer Lopez) Here’s how to get the runway look in a few quick steps.

1. Simply brush your hair into a ponytail. Closer to the top of the head looks best.

2. For an undone look, lightly tease the lengths of the ponytail to create some body.

3. Twist the ponytail around the base and secure with pins.
