Awards season is well underway, and the SAG red carpet featured some gorgeous looks. Amber Heard gets my vote for best overall look. Loved her dress, hair and makeup.

These celebs hit the couture shows in Paris this week. All the ladies looked lovely in the front row, but Olivia Palermo was absolutely gorgeous.

Some years when I watch the Globes, I ooh and ahh over the dresses. However, I felt like this year’s Globes wasn’t quite as inspiring. Besides the bold lip, overall the makeup was rather understated.

There were a lot of pale dresses. I loved Charlize’s Dior couture dress and the accessories that went along with it. Her shoes were hot and the side chignon with the headband made the look. The sharp shoulders and belt on Emma Stone’s pleated Lanvin gown looked cool as did Salma Hayeks ombre locks.

Following the brights trend for this season, there was a lot of colour on the red carpet. I particularly enjoyed Lea Michele’s white drapey Marchesa gown paired with the bubble gum pink lips and Kelly Osbourne’s orangey lids and ash blonde hair. And of course Elisha Cuthbert — her makeup is fresh-faced and minimal but how can she go wrong with that gorgeous face of hers.

Dakota Fanning looks beautiful on the cover of Elle UK for February. The first steps to recreating this look is flawless skin, and full natural looking eyebrows. For the eyes use a matte medium tone brown shadow, and blend through the crease and a little under the eye, then couple of coats of black mascara on the lashes. The most important ingredient for this look is of course the super matte raspberry lip.

These celebs had a great year for make up and style. A combination of flawless, glowy skin, red lips, major lashes, and smoky eyes are the ingredients for a winning look.

Nicole glams up from her usual boho look very nicely. Beyonce looks radiant. Rosie goes from catwalk to red carpet seamlessly. Emma’s complexion is luminous. Jennifer basically gets better every year. Rachel is always adorable.

In a few short weeks we will be entering into a new year. The January magazines set the tone for the new year. A very statuesque looking Carey Mulligan on W, classic Angelina on Marie Claire, sultry looking Jessica Alba, and a fresh, cool looking version of Lady Gaga on Elle UK.

The Beauty Book for Brain Cancer was shot by photographer Darren Tieste. It features numerous famous faces all in very stylized makeup–highly arched brows, lots of contouring, and some pretty fab nail art.

The British Fashion awards took place last night at the Savoy Hotel in London, England. Winners include Victoria Beckham for designer brand of the year, Sarah Burton for designer of the year and Alexa Chung for the British style award for the 2nd year running.

Personally, I thought that Poppy Delevigne’s looked fantastic in her Matthew Williamson dress and fishtail plait. And Kate Moss looked her usual fabulous self with her fur and bright red lips.

Here are out fave’s from last night’s AMA’s. Pink seemed to be the standout colour of the evening. Both Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry had shades of pink hair and lips while Jennifer Hudson’s bright pink lip stood out nicely with her metallic Jenny Packham dress. And Selena Gomez looked very Hollywood glamour in her sleek hair plunging silver Giorgio Armani dress.

I thought these ladies looked the best at the CFDA/Vogue award arrivals. Rooney Mara’s look was so striking. Matte black cherry lipstick, amazing brows, and spidery lashes were such a good look for her. Chloe Moretz had almost the tone down version of Mara’s look which was very age appropriate and suited her well. Olivia Wilde wore beautiful cat eyeliner, I do think she needed a bit more colour on her lips or cheeks to tie it all together better. Doutzen is just gorgeous always, even though her makeup wasn’t totally stand-out.

Jessica Stam looked the most fabulous! Love the slicked pony tail, the dark lip, the tux, Louboutins, and the long necklaces–it just all worked.

This weekends EMA’s were hosted by the very cute Selena Gomez who looked adorable on the red carpet. Models Irina Shayk, and Bar Refaeli looked gorgeous with their hair swept off their faces flaunting glowy skin, nude lips, and smoky liner. Hayden Panettiere wore a similar look, though I wasn’t keen on her tight curly hair. Jessie J’s red lips and defined black liner was a winning combination with her gold leopard print dress.

Michelle Williams looks adorable on the December issue of Elle UK. Her upcoming movie Marilyn Monroe is garnering very positive reviews, and she looks perfect as the late Hollywood starlet.

These 4 ladies looked stunning at the Hollywood Film Awards. We’re always fans of Emma Stone and her anti-tan, flawless skin looked lovely with soft eye make up and long dark lashes. Rosie’s swept back hair really emphasized her pouty berry stained lips. Carey Mulligan bucked the neutral eye make up trend with black glittery eye lids, and perfectly groomed brows. The youngest actress of them all looked very age appropriate with her makeup, and on trend at the same time with milk maid braids, that we at Smudge Style also like to rock!

Another doe-eyed member of the Olsen family, actress Elizabeth is getting alot of attention recently, and not just for her “up and coming” status. Showing that style runs in the family, Elizabeth has been working some beautiful looks on and off the red carpet. Choosing classic looks that enhance her features in the make up department, while wearing cool modern outfits is working wonderfully for her.

Pregnant Beyonce looking absolutely stunning on the cover of Bazaar. Big caramel hair, smoky eye makeup, and flawless skin. Typical Beyonce, and it works every time.

As the spring collections wind down, Paris was inundated with celebs to see some of the best shows of the season. Rachel Zoe was all over the city, Ciara was spotted at Kanye West’s first collection, and Lea Michele made a stunning appearance at Hogan. Liv Tyler who is the face of Givenchy cosmetics, was seen at the Givenchy show. Olivia Palermo who never misses a Giambattista show, and Jessica Biel sat front row at Valli.

Celebs and models jetted to London and Milan for a front row view of the spring collections. A laid back Whitney Port was spotted in London. As well as a super glammed up Sienna Miller, who joined many others at a party to honor Mario Testino. The Italian shows drew stars like Scarlett Johannson at Dolce and Gabbana, and Heidi Klum at Versace. One more city to go…Paris!

Always a star studded event, the amfAR gala held during Milan fashion week brought out Hollywood celebs like Lindsay Lohan, and the major players from the fashion world like the Dsquared2 twins. Models Chanel Iman, and Isabelli Fontana looked gorgeous as ever. Looking fab for a good cause is always makes for a great event.

Personally, I never find as many stand-out looks at the Emmys compared to other award shows, however there were a few ladies who got it right. My two faves were Kerry Washington’s red lips with the red dress  and Rachael Taylor with her blond bob and sparkly pink gown. Gwyneth always looks pretty and the details in her dress are beautiful, but I wasn’t a fan of the crop top. What were your faves?
