The dominate hair trends of the season have been the side braid, the top knot the undone up do and of course beach waves. It’s super easy to achieve this relaxed look, and it works whether your hair is shoulder length like the Versace image or longer like the Pucci one. Must have product: Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray

1. For soft waves use a curling iron and wrap from the middle of the section to the end

2. Hold for about 15-20 seconds

3. Use your fingers to separate

Gone are the days when we had to wait for the September issue to see the latest Fall campaigns. Now everything is online months in advance to satisfy our fashion fix for the upcoming season.

Both Dsquared and Louis Vuitton kept within the exact make up theme of their runway shows. I love the Louis Vuitton campaign everything about it is sophisticated and beautiful. All three girls look amazing but Christy Turlington is the show stopper-she looks absolutely gorgeous.

Other faves for the season are Frejha Beha Erichsen in supersized Tom Ford frames and surrounded by large crows is sort of modern day Hitchcock. Karen Elson is featured in St. John’s continuing on from the Spring campaign. Burberry’s giving us a young, cool, British vibe and Lanvin’s panda eyes and scarlet red mouths is major drama. Since we’ve pretty much given up on Summer in Vancouver, I’m ready for Fall.

Spring hasn’t officially arrived yet, but judging from what we’ve seen so far at New York Fashion Week there is a lot to look forward to for Autumn 2010. There were some beautiful shows. Overall the make up looks seemed to be more about the eyes than the lips. I absolutely love the Alexander Wang make up. MAC Mid-tone Sepia Cream Colour Base blended and wrapped around the eye is such a hot look. I also enjoyed the cool taupe eyes at Rodarte, again in that wrapped around elongated shape. London starts today!

I have just returned from my favourite city that was celebrating twenty five years of fashion week-London was amazing! In contrast to New York, London is known for it’s edgier more hard hitting street style both on and off the runway. The make up for Spring Summer 2010 was not really about looking tan and perfect but more about creating a statement. Burberry has been revived from it’s stuffy old English history to be youthful and fresh. At Jonathan Saunders we perfected and slightly paled out the skin so the models looked almost waxy. Virtually every girl had her eyebrows bleached to non existence. Lips were toned down with concealer except the very inner part which had bright red and deep currant coloured liners applied to the mouth, very “new moon” style. What’s a London runway without colour? Marios Schwab, Luella, and Richard Nicholl had variations on colour from soft to bright. Erdem gave us long lush lashes. Now Milan is in full swing get ready for heavy doses of glamour.
