Kate Moss for Rimmel

September 19th, 2011

My first cosmetic purchase since arriving in London was a tube of the Kate Moss lipstick from Rimmel. To celebrate Kate’s long standing partnership with the company, she has designed a collection of 7 lipsticks that launched last week in the UK. Of course I picked up colour 3 – nude! It’s a pinky beige, semi matte texture and it lasts for quite awhile without touch ups.

Dior Addict Lipstick

April 1st, 2011

The new Dior Addict lipsticks launched this week. After seeing the movie/commercial in the weeks leading up to the launch featuring Kate Moss, I knew I had to try them. The texture is ultra light and sheer with lots of sheen. It feels weightless on the lips because it has 25% less wax than a ordinary lipstick, and contains a reflecting gel. There are tons of colours–44. I have Nude 333 and New Look 745. The nude one is really light but perfect for just throwing on in the day, or to wear with dark or bright eyes. New Look is an orangey red its a good bright for Spring. If you’re looking for a lipstick that’s shiny, and not sticky like a gloss but feels like a lip balm, and you feel like spending $31, then this is the product for you!

Tip of the Day: Nude Lips for Dark Skin

July 20th, 2010

For nude lips that complement dark skin tones choose a warm caramel lipstick with gold undertones. My favourite is Dolce & Gabbana Cashmere lipstick. Avoid anything that has an undertoneĀ that is too white or pale.

Stella McCartney Nude Fragrance

October 5th, 2009

Screen shot 2009-10-05 at 1.24.34 PMI have been wearing Stella McCartney ever since it came out years ago. I’ve been through two bottles of the original, one bottle of the sheer version, and I still have a few of the roll on travel vials which are so convenient. So of course I have to try the recently launched Nude. Like the original Nude is a floral scent. A few of the notes are Moroccan Rose, Grapefruit, and White Peony. I like the vanilla which adds a little bit of sweetness. I don’t mind that they kept the bottle shape the same since the colour is different it seems modern and new.
