Angelina Jolie looks pretty stunning as she makes her way around the world for her latest movie Salt. Her make up is clean and classic opting for black eyeliner, and either nude or red on her most famous feature-lips. My favourite look so far is the glossy highlight on the cheeks, and the sheen on her legs. You can’t go wrong with strategically placed highlights.

The Couture shows last week in Paris, were a perfect fashion fix before Spring shows begin in September. Dior stayed true to form with dramatic eyebrows bright geometric eyeshadow, and ultra dark matte lips. I loved the warm metallic, elongated, 70′s feel eye at both Elie Saab and Armani Prive. Karl Lagerfeld wowed the crowds with a massive gold lion in the centre of the runway for the red lipped, bare eyed models to walk around. Red lips and a dark carved out crease with fluttery lashes was the look at JPG. White shadow on the lids, clear gloss on the lips, and top knots gave the girls at Valentino a very innocent look.

A few celebs were spotted taking in the Couture shows this past week. Blake Lively and Jessica Alba were all in attendance at Chanel. Leighton Meester’s smoky eyes complemented her embellished outfit. Blake Lively looked summery with beachy waves and glowing skin. Jessica Alba looked adorable in a white dress with red belt and matching lipstick.

These ladies worked the red carpet last night at the MTV Movie Awards. Scarlett Johansson was best dressed in green Dolce and Gabbana. Her blonde waves, dark eyes and light lips made for the perfect red carpet package. Vanessa Hudgens opted for pale pink lips off setting her tanned skin nicely. Katy Perry let her hair be the focus of her look. If you were to ever wear a bright blue wig this is how it should look! Nicky Hilton’s side braid was very SS 10. Christina Aguilera’s tight coif and red lips were very dramatic, much like her performance on the show.

Red lips, strong black liner, slicked back hair, and oiled up skin. These are often the requirements for girls in men’s magazines. Blake pulls the look off effortlessly as though she always looks like this (which she actually often does!) I especially enjoy the sheen on the skin. Johnson’s Baby Oil Gel gives the same effect to bare legs and arms a must have for the upcoming season.

Before the end of the year arrives a few big movies will hit the theatres just in time for the 2010 awards season. (Golden Globe nominations were this morning) Over the past week premieres and promotion have begun, where we’ve seen standard red carpet looks that work every time. Rachel McAdams and Gwen Stefani at the premiere of Sherlock Holmes, show off two different shades of red. Adding further evidence to the fact that, there is a red lipstick that works for everyone. Penelope Cruz at the Nine premiere, and Zoe Saldana at Avatar, left their hair down, and focused on dark smoky eyes and neutral and matte lips.

Lady like sophistication hit the runways this season. Strong feminine shapes like the pencil skirt, sky high heels, and statement necklaces deserve a make up look that takes more than five minutes to apply. Start by brightening and perfecting skin with YSL Touche Eclat. Eyes can be smoky in colour and almond in shape. Or go for a light coloured shadow all over the eyes, and define the lash line with a strong winged out liquid eyeliner using Armani’s Maestro Eyeliner. The Hills and The City are back for new seasons. We are all well aware it is somewhat of a stretch to call them reality shows. What is real though, is that as time goes by, the hair and make up just keep getting better and better both on and off the show. Audrina and Whitney seen above, with perfect waves, glowing skin, and red pouts are the epitome of Hollywood glamour.

September means Summer is officially over and Fall is fast approaching.  That means new make up, new wardrobe, the return of our favourite TV shows, and the launch of some new ones!  As we all know everything old is new again. This award season we saw Hollywood glamour at its best. The most important trends were front and centre: flawless skin, long lashes, defined eyes, and although the red lip made a cameo, the neutral lip ruled the red carpet. Red carpet make up focuses on making women look beautiful by accentuating their best features. There are three classic make up looks: neutral eyes neutral lips-seen on Kate, Eva, Angelina, Beyonce, and Jennifer. Neutral eye bold lips-seen on Christina, and smoky eye neutral lip-seen on Sarah Jessica, Freida, and  Natalie.
